What is African Development Bank ?

The African Development Bank Group, an international financial institution established in 1964, raises fund for investments and provides technological assistance for African countries for the purpose of spurring sustainable economic development and social progress in the region. The institution has now 80 member countries in total: 54 regional and 26 non-regional members.
Korea, which joined the institution in 1982, has been strengthening the bilateral cooperation with the AfDB with its development experience and know-how. In particular, Korea created the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) in 2006 to support a qualitative economic development of the African countries.
